Good link mitchell65, saved it to little list of computer links, may come useful in the future; I agree that I don't think the OP has cleaned his/her system, but rather marked the thread as solved in expectation that the overheating is the sole cause of his/her problems and that cleaning the system will be a simple and easy job.

Just click on CPU Temperatures on the nav bar on the left!
I noticed there wasn't that many modern AMD CPUs, the one I have wasn't even listed.

What I learned from that list was that the better the quality of the CPU the higher temp it can work at. Another feature to take into account when looking at buying a laptop!
