Stuck Mouse on startup

I need some help. Recently when I went to my computer the other day the login screen was black, and the only thing that was visible was my cursor, which I could move. So I restarted it and launched system repair. It finished, and when it did, my cursor was stuck, I tried everything and couldn't move it, which effected me repairing my pc and login screen which is the reason I launched the repair, because since I couldn't move my cursor, I couldn't select any options to help repair my pc. So I restarted it again and this time went into system restore, and when I get to the system restore options screen the cursor is still stuck. Can someone please help me with a solution? This is extremely irritating. Thanks.

Try unplugging your mouse, reboot into Windows 7, then plug it in.

If necessary reboot again to see if it works correctly. If not try another mouse.

You should always be able to toggle through WinRe repair options using Tab and Enter buttons.

Thanks I have a laptop, so I plugged in a usb mouse and the usb mouse worked, then I unplugged it and the trackpad is still frozen. Do you know if there is anyway to fix the trackpad or get a replacement or something? Since this is obviously the main conflict.

Download the latest driver for the trackpad from the PC's Support Downloads webpage. Look at the software offered there for any hotfixes or software needed for the trackpad.

Thanks. I went to my pc's support center, and they said make sure the trackpad was turned on and told me to press Fn and F7 and it worked. lol... I guess I must have turned it off when I was pushing all the buttons on the keyboard trying to make the logon screen visible. Thanks A lot.

Lol that's a common easily overlooked error. Remember the KISS method. Go from easiest simplest ones first and work your way up
