Does anyone actually use dynamic volumes?

    Does anyone actually use dynamic volumes?


    I've been reading up on dynamic volumes, and while they are interesting, I wonder if they are actually used in the real world, and if so, more by enterprises than individuals?

    What's your experience, and do you see big advantages to them?

I've just installed Windows 7. I have 3 hard drives. Windows 7 installed drive (C Drive), Data Drive (F drive) and a media drive (D. I accidently changed F drive from a basic to dynamic disc (not sure if this has any bearing on my isssue) For some reason the C and F drive are system drives....
Dynamic Volumes

I have five 1.5TB drives running in software Raid5 with a dynamic volume. I have to re-install Windows 7. Will this dynamic volume persist through a re-install of windows 7? Or will I have to re-create the dyncamic volume?
I've done this twice in a row now, so I'm sure it's not a fuke: I install windows 7, convert the disks to Dynamic Disks, and try to reboot. THe result is that the system hangs right after it would normally check to boot from the DVD drives, and before it would start booting Windows. The...
