I told you that what you downloaded was SP3, not XP installer.

You need to own XP. Do you own it?

Do you have an XP installation CD? What does it say on the disk?

    Answer the questions.

I don't know if you can still buy it. Someone else may know.

It's too old to install on most modern hardware with major modifications that are a lot of work. Why do you need XP? Is there a program that won't work on Win7? Have you tried installing it in Compatibility Mode?

Confirm you're using XP with SP3 disk.

If so it means that you'll need to provide SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

Try XP SP3 disk as you've been advised all along. You can try slipstreaming it in since you have the SP3 download.

There's no loss of performance, but with WIn8 upgrade you lose the right to use Win7 if you Clean install it.
