Cant start Volume Shadow Copy Service

I cant start Volume Shadow Copy
    Error is:
The system cannot find path specified. Error 3

But I do have VSSVC.exe in my system32 folder

I have this in registry under description

    @%systemroot%\system32\vssvc.exe,-101

I think that everything is ok, Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is running

    What to do?

The registry value you'd want to check is ImagePath. In your case it seems to point to something that's not being found, or the ImagePath value doesn't exist at all.

    ======================================

The "description" is just a text string. It's saying "use string index 101 from vssvc.exe in the 'description' field for this service". On my box, which is English Windows, that maps to:

"Manages and implements Volume Shadow Copies used for backup ... blah blah"

On yours, the description string embedded in vssvc.exe may be different if it's a Slovenian version.

    HKLM/System/Current Control Set/Services/VSS
    Do I make It?

    edit:

I made new string name it
    ImagePath
    and entered
    %SystemRoot%\System32\vssvc.exe

    Hope its ok.

Doesnt work but I should restart computer right?

Do you mean it's working now? If not...

Your original error message was almost certainly caused by the lack of ImagePath under 'VSS'. That value is used by the service control manager (SCM) to find the executable and thereby start a given service. Without an image path, the SCM error basically means "OK, I'd like to start it, but I've got no idea where to find it".

If you've got a different error message now, that presumably means ImagePath wasn't the only thing missing on your machine. What's the new error? Do you use "registry cleaners"?

I think you are running a BORKED download.
Many lite or illegal ddownloads are RIPPED - borked. find a legit version
download and start over again... almost all ripped illegal version remove the ability to make RESTORE.

Im still using RTM version. After I done system restore(before I booted into windows)
it seems that everything works OK now.

But it did felt strange, when I had all Restore points ,including one from that same day.
Strange because System Restore could not be shown in Windows(like it didnt run) ,coz the VSSVC.exe wasnt working or could System Restore work just fine, but cant be shown without Volume Shadow Service ?

What difference do you think Retail to OEM upgrade will do if your DOWNLOAD is a borked iso.

Unless your a TECHNET or MSDN - then apparently your using a BORKED
    ripped Download. Recommend -
    1. wait until you can get a OFFICIAL Download.
really unfair to ask for tech asistance if your COPIES are not 100% legit.

    please advise as to version of Win 7. RTM - OEM - x86 - x64 -
version 7000 thru 7600. starter, home, prem, Pro, Enterprise or Ultimate
    Legit or Illegal DL.
