    my password will not work

Please help. I set a password on my laptop and when I went to long in the next time it said my password or user name is incorrect. I know the password I am entering is the one I put in twice to set it. What can I do???

If you put it in twice to set it, then windows should accept it if you put it in. There are ways around this, but we will not discuss that here, to prevent unauthorized use on a computer. Only thing I can say is that most computers do not come with a windows disk, it comes with a recovery partition you can boot into and reinstall Windows.

I have tried to go into it via safe mode but it still takes me to the password screen.

You boot into recovery not Safe Mode, right before Windows Starts to load after your BIOS POST screen disappears, press F8 to get into the boot menu, and choose recovery.

Also, if you password doesn't work, try pressing caps lock before putting in your password, when setting it, caps lock might have been on.

But, just know that it is my personal policy to not help people circumvent windows user passwords. I have had issues in the past where I would help someone and come to find out the computer wasn't theirs that they were trying to log into.

Don't see restore. Only repair your computer and directory services restore mode.

choose repair your computer, unfortunately this will set your computer back to factory, which will wipe everything on your hard drive. This is the only option that I will let you know about, there are others that you can find online if you search for them, that won't wipe your stuff.

Sadly I'm not very smart when it comes to this. I have been looking online but hard to understand. I don't want to lose all my sons pictures.

When you booted into Safe Mode was there an account called "Administrator"?

If there was, you can log into it, as it doesn't have a password normally, and you can change the password that way.
