Back trouble

Windows 7 HP and Chrome Browser

I am finding that sometimes, for example, when reading a forum's thread that has several pages, that use of the back button or arrow does not work. I remain on the same page. The icon in top left rotates too. A few times it works eventually, but mostly I have to use the equivalent of something likea site's "AAAForum > Internet > Web Browsing & Email > Start new topic" and select the penultimate item; not helpful if you wan to step back a page pf the thread.

I cannot work out if it only happens on certain sites.

What could be the cause, and the cure? Ideas anyone?

Does the same behavior occur when using IE?

I haven't tried FF or IE, but will. As the problem is intermittent, proof positive could be elusive. Today one forum which seems a frequent sufferer is working OK. Might it be something their end at all?

Doubtful, if it happens on several forums. But, then again...

My money is on your browser. You might even consider un-installing and re-installing Chrome. I had a few problems with it and switched to Firefox. I use Joomla CMS and I need the add ons that are available for FF so FF is the browser of choice for me!

I almost never use the back button when browsing. I always open forums and threads in new tabs. When I'm through with the thread, I delete the tab and and, bingo, I'm back where I was. Right now, I have three tabs open: Windows 7 Forums, General Discussion, Back Trouble

I'm with the majority here as it sounds like a browser issue to me. Following any of the hints here should help, if not then we'll be happy to offer more suggestions.

If you have a back button on your mouse, try that.
