MSE not in system tray but in Customize list New Win 7x64 laptop bought from MS Store and hence set up by them or tech staff, with MSE loaded. But the thing I've never seen before, perhaps out of inattention, is that while its icon doesn't show in the Sys Tray, it is listed at the bottom of the Customize list and shows as "Computer status - Protected," which means it's working. So given its presence in the list, why wouldn't it be in the Tray? | My System Specs |

Reread my post because I think your question misses the point. No matter what the setting, one would expect the icon to be present in the Sys Tray (Notification Area). I'll guess you're thinking of the Sys Tray part of the Taskbar, which I'm not. | My System Specs | | OS Win 7 Home Premium and Win XP/SP3 Home 32 bit (desktop); Win 7 x64 Home Premium (laptop) CPU AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition (unlocked) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P (rev. 1.0) - version F9 BIOS Memory 6 GB Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5670 Monitor(s) Displays Dell U2412M PSU Corsair VX450 Case Cooler Master Cooling front/back fans, CPU/PSU stock Hard Drives Corsair Force 3 SSD 60 GB

Is this not what you`re talking about ? On the rightside of the taskbar ?
And only 1 of thr 3 settings will put it on the taskbar, not all 3. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built by Me ! The Notification Area, aka Sys Tray, is that collection of icons one sees when they click on the little upward pointing white arrow a little to the left of of the time in the right corner. The list of apps is what one gets when they click on the Customize link at the bottom of that pop up. Of course, it's possible to have all or some of one's sys tray icons on the taskbar - I keep two there - but that doesn't change the underlying question, since if it's not in the popup it should be on the taskbar. But in this case, MSE's icon is nowhere to be found, just it's place in the list. | My System Specs | | OS Win 7 Home Premium and Win XP/SP3 Home 32 bit (desktop); Win 7 x64 Home Premium (laptop) CPU AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition (unlocked) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P (rev. 1.0) - version F9 BIOS Memory 6 GB Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5670 Monitor(s) Displays Dell U2412M PSU Corsair VX450 Case Cooler Master Cooling front/back fans, CPU/PSU stock Hard Drives Corsair Force 3 SSD 60 GB

Not with this laptop.
