I have a friend who I think is pirating windows 7

I am not going to discuss about any cracks, please don't bring up that discussion here.

Ok so I have a friend who downloaded windows 7 rtm, and he used one of those "programs" to activate it, he told me that now his copy of 7 has an "oem" key and a certificate registered in the bios and that microsoft cannot blacklist it, how is this possible? can he get away with it? can he reject the windows genuine activation update?

I'm not trying to bring up discussion about cracks!
I hope I do not get banned I just need some answers

PS: I already preordered my copy of 7

Ask your question again after Microsoft begins validation... All will become clear then...

Its funny you say you are not going to discuss any cracks, then ask if it is possible, and can he get away with it.

I think I will pass on this one

If he doesn't have a legitimately obtained key, he is pirating and it is wrong.

There are so many ways to get a reasonably priced legitimate copy, including academic channels, or the Family Pack. Why don't you suggest that he get legal, ASAP?

I just think that it is wrong that he gets it free while people like us will pay for the real thing.
