Windows 7: The case of the disappearing mouse pointer

Before arriving here in the forum, I have researched this online and so can confirm I have gone into the control panel and ensured the "hide mouse pointer whilst typing" is unticked.

I have an intermittent problem where after typing a few letters, the mouse pointer is disappearing. As I am the sort who looks at the keys not the screen, I don't know this til I look up again.

It doesn't appear to do this in a browser screen like the one I am using to type this and I just did a test in Word and it didn't do it then, but half an hour ago, I was updating a page in Frontpage and it kept doing it.



It has also done it in word before I recall and it has done it when using a browser to prepare an e mail so as I say, this appears to be a moody little fault.

Any ideas on what I can do to fault find bar reinstalling the O/S much appreciated. Keith
