    iso to dvd9

im wanting to burn a few iso files to dvd9 disc as the files are between 7.2 and 7.8 gig.
ive managed to burn 3 discs but wasted 6 trying.
whats happening is, it manages to burn layer one but errors burning layer 2.

overall it gets to about 62 - 79% finished then errors
discs im using are ridisc 8.5 and kodak 8.5
ive tried imgburn, and poweriso to burn the discs

If you are using image burn there are two possibilities, you need to try and burn at a slower speed and the second is as it always fails when trying to burn the second layer which is underneath the first layer and the laser needs more power and a different focal length to burn the files this would be the drive is wearing out.
So my bet is on the drive going bad as the laser is wearing out.

So you have a new defective drive. It happens, it has happened to me personally recently when a new ASUS drive I had would not play the 2nd layer of a dual layer DVD. Got it RMA for a working one.
You need to do the same.
