Tower height off floor vs. dust?

I acknowledge this may be a silly question but here goes...

For a normal tower computer without super duty fan has anyone ever bothered to determine at what ~ height off a carpeted floor will the fan suck significantly less carpet dust into the machine?

I'm going to say no, because it shouldn't ever be sitting on carpet anyway. Carpet is a conductor of static electricity, so if you need it on the floor, I would put something under it, like a piece of wood from an old shelf, etc.

I planned on cutting a piece of plywood for the computer to sit on. However due to the configuration of the space the tower sits within under the desk the intake (front) will be adjacent and fairly close to the carpeted floor--hence the question about elevation.

If it isn't sitting down into the carpet, it will be a non-issue.

It's my own Ikea hack. Ekby shelf and Capita legs. The bolts I got from a local hardware store.
