I leave my lounge PC on 24/7 it has a spinner so I don't like having to wait for it to start up.

I turn my main rig off at night.

I leave mine on all the time, except for about once a week I just turn it off so things can reset, but turn it right back on.

My desktops have always been on 24/7 (I generally reboot a couple of time a week). My past netbooks and my current notebook are on only when I need them.

Arterio, welcome to the windows 7 forum.

One thing to remember if you leave your machine on all the time is ventilation, if there is plenty of room for the fans to push their air out, then it should be ok. I always leave my server on but I periodically open it up and blow out the cpu fan so that the rug dust does not clog it up.

My laptops are only on when I use them as laptops are notorious for insufficient ventilation.
