    New WIN 7 Laptop needed...

Anybody know where I can get a decent deal on a WIN 7 laptop where the hard drive and RAM are easily to get to for upgrading purposes? (I figure if it's cheap deal, I'll have to upgrade the hard drive and the RAM, which I don't mind doing if it's fairly easy to get to).

I know alot of folks are here are very knowledgeable in not only computers, but also where the deals are. I'm needing to replace my wife's laptop so I figured I'd make a Christmas present out of it (gotta milk this stuff as much as possible ya know)

    Please let me know....

Dell Latitude E64 or 65 30 series. Drive is easily changed and the RAM is just a little harder. You have to go to the Small/Medium business side of Dell to get them.

OK, so what do you guys think of the deal here:
    Amazon.com: Lenovo G570 4334EEU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black): Computers & Accessories

It's in my price range, and the RAM and hard drive should be easily accessible from the bottom.

Yeah, I guess I'm spoiled now that I have a Lenovo X220 where the ram and hd are right on the back side and are very easy to get to.

I'm kinda leanin towards getting another Lenovo one for the wife because of this.

Looks o.k. to me. I can't say anything about other Asus products but my G74Sx is extremely easy to get to the HDD's and RAM. Don't even need a screwdriver, just a coin.

But in all honesty you really don't need to get to the RAM but once. Stick 16GBs in it and your at the top amount.

On the Dells, that's a problem. I was trying to help someone with their Vostro and the ram was under the keyboard and I couldn't get the keyboard to come off. I didn't want break their new laptop and have to buy them another one, so I ended up telling them I couldn't do it.

Since there are laptops that have ram and hd easily accessible, I need to get one of those. I'll take a Dell if it's absolutely free, so barring that I need one of these other ones.

I just looked at the Asus G74Sx and those are way out of the price range.

I need to keep it around $500 or $600.

There is a Specific Reason I said the Latitude line of Dell computers. They are from the Business end of Dell and are geared to the business/IT world where companies do there own upgrades and servicing. That means that these business models are built differently then the Home Owner style. Yes Dell may offer their Home Owner models on some of their business end sites, like the small business site, just so they don't lose a sale but still offer the business type of support and warranty.

I don't know if you are in the USA or not, but if so, Newegg.com and Tigerdirect.com have some really good deals. They still have the Black Friday sales going.
