Windows 7: Win 7 Pro bullt in magnifier

Win 7 Pro bullt in magnifier

Good Evening Seven Forums,

Due to my poor vision and Macular DeGeneration I have been using the built in Windows 7 Pro Magnifier. How it works now is not the way it worked two years ago. Not sure when this condition started but am sure there has been many windows updates since I remember it not working the way it is now.

This is the way it works now. I do not use Icons and have the taskbar set to hide. With that set up I click the magnifier which I have pinned to the task bar for easy access. With nothing open the entire desk top is clear except for my background picture and since the task bar is hiden the screen basicly clear. Then I go down to the task bar and activate the magnifier. I can move the magnfier anywhere on screen just fine no proglems, as soon as I place it on the taks bar it begins to flash on and off even if it is on a link on the task bar since the pointer is in the senter of the magnified area it flashes so cmpletely it is hard to place the pointer to a specific spot.

Now I acctivate any program with it's window less than max. any time I move the magnified window on any side of the opened window and the magnifier begins to flash, if I am on the X in the upper right corner the magnifier begins to flash on and off rendering the X not visable I have to place it on the X then click and hope it works to close the sindow. While viewing this window which is IE9 and place the magnifier on the taks bar, works OK, place it at the X in the upper corner it is OK. It appears that this magnifier function works OK, but this is the only window that works ok, very difficult. Have passed the problem on to Microsoft without a solution. Hope Sevenforums can come up with a cause. If i did not have to use the magnifier, of course this condition would not be that bad.

Sorry for this long story but felt I need to explain my problem.
