Computer always hangs at Windows 7 logo screen.

I've just did a clean install of Windows 7 to my SSD 2 weeks ago.

Recently, abut 4-5 times a week, my computer will hang at the Windws 7 logo screen. the part where the logo glows but it stops there.

I tried the startup repair after I forceshut the computer, but no results.

I tried sfc / scannow but there's nothing wrong. I read that doing chkdsk on a SSD has no effect right ?

I'm guessing you have two memory sticks of 4GB each. If this is correct, try running with just one stick. Check each RAM stick one at a time and check each slot one at a time.

    Check SSD alignment.

Check if there's a newer BIOS available.

Hmm 1 4GB Ram is directly soldered to the motherboard, the other 4 GB is by Samsung.

    SSD alignment is correct.

I've updated my BIOS last week :)

Not sure if this helps, but I've been keeping boot logs (via msconfig) these few days..

And I realise that there are a few abnormalies (?)

The drivers below are those that are not loaded at bootup.

    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\dxgkrnl.sys
    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\srv.sys
    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\vga.sys

    Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS
    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS
    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS
    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS
    Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS

The one is red interests me, becuase it actually loaded, and the fail to load. Could this be the cause ?

Anything is possible when it comes to computers.

Did you try removing the Samsung RAM and running on the soldered 4GB only?

Found this Microsoft forum thread. Perhaps it will help.

Did you follow the best practices for Win7 drivers as given in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which are the same for retail?

If not I'd start over with the goal of getting a perfect reinstall, which may solve these problems..
