    Checker.Exe (The "ZEROTHREAT" process)

So I've been recently struck by a wonderful virus-ish process that's called checker.exe

    based on google
1- it has no impact on performance (wrong)
2- it has no threat reports on AV sites
3- reads your e-mails and forward it to a receiver

based on what I've found and after a few days of testing this out
1- It maxes out your gpu load (prolly using your gpu's processing power)
2- Based on the above~ a constant 60 Degrees running heat on the GPU
3- Most gamers will notice there's a problem
    4- I don't see any e-mails being pushed out
5- I don't track any connections being made or tapped
    6- It's annoying as hell

    removal
1- Most AV don't recognize this so don't waste your time
2- If you do want to waste your time, AVG is not bad but it reappears later on
3- Easiest way is to kill the process tree.

    help?
1- Anyone got a better solution?

From what I read Checker.exe is a valid process, in most cases. Installed by some software you installed. Sometimes with Wash N Go (Whatever that is) and Xbox software.

Simple End the process, Search the C drive and the registry for that name and delete all instances. Then if some piece of software you need doesn't run anymore then reinstall it.

Nah this appeared out of nowhere as I have not downloaded anything onto this comp. I have a second pc that monitors what is downloaded and check it for any malicious content. That said nothing has been transferred too.

On my system the impact is barely noticeable as I have 64 gb of ram and dual 7970s. But when you do monitor it eats up a lot of resources (the main card from the xfire oc'ed to 1145 retains 95-99% load and temps spike up to those similar to stress test temps.

I've went through my drives with no luck but apparently avg found it today and removed it though it wasn't much of a problem considering killing the process reverts the effects temporarily.

Would just like to put this out there if anyone encounters it as web information is flawed and brings no resolution to this.
