windows 7 starter 64bit - wont execute several setups

hey,ill start from the beginning, booted windows 7 starter installation off a bootable diskonkey, and recieved a msg "no device drivers were found, make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click ok" so reading on some forums i realized i probably need the chipset + usb drivers for the asus eee 1001px which i was installing this windows on, loaded them on the diskonkey and ran the installation again, everything went through smoothly, now thing is that i came to install several of the drivers (wan/bluetooth) that i downloaded for asus's website destined for that specific model, the setup .exe files wont execute, they just pop a fast closing dos window and nothing is installed, what approach do you recommend? thank you.

The problem is almost always a bad installer. Confirm or download a new ISO and write to stick using Steps 1 and 2 in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

You will need to unlock Home Premium to have an all-versions menu to choose Starter using the eicfg removal tool

I think you may be talking about Home Basic, there is no 64bit Starter version.

Either way, Greg's post is the best method to resolve your issues.

what if at the beginning of the installation when it asked me to browse for drivers i directed it to the chipset driver folder, and it found nothing, then i unticked the "hide incompatible drivers"(not sure if thats the exact text), and forced it to accept one of the 100's drivers from the list, and then it enabled me to continue with the installation.. why is it required anyway? what should have i done ?

Did you read what I wrote? The error is 99% of the time a bad installer.

I told you how to rewrite the flash stick correctly with the latest ISO.

Ok so installed the 32bit home edition directed by the link you provided and copied using the flashing tool, same issues, i even tried installing a copy of winxp sp3 which i had already installed successfully before, copied it with that "novi..something" flashing tool, and at the beginning of the installation it states that files are missing from several source dirs, even tho that the files are evidently present. Does it matter if i run the flashing tool through an os of the same version? I just ran out of ideas.. Made sure bios settings are correct the only abnormality i found on this pc is that its hdd is splitted to 4 partitions which out of 1 is inactive. Help

If you are sure you have the full ISO downloaded and unlocked by running the Ei.cfg Removal Utility on it, and writing to stick with the MS download tool fails, then use How To Use UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive which has never failed for me.

This time wipe the HD first with Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command from the booted installer's Command Line accessed by pressing Shift + F10 at first screen when booted.
