You might want to consider creating a System Restore point and then give it a shot. I'm fairly certain a System Restore will get you back if it doesn't work. Maybe others can chime in to either confirm or debunk that thought.

There's also the option to "Reset..." IE to default for all options. It pretty much restores everything, and is found in Internet Options dialog box, Advanced tab.

There is less security when it is enabled, therefore I will not suggest it in the future. Better to error on the side of caution.
