    My computer clock keeps resetting back to an earlier date


    OK, my OS is Windows 7 64-bit. Lately, whenever I start my laptop, the computer clock at the bottom right hand side keep resetting back to 10th January 2008. Also if I do an immediate restart, this problem does not occur.

    I have to then manually change the computer clock.

    What is the cause of this? How do I solve this problem? Please advise! Thanks!

    The cause of this is usually that the motherboard battery has died or is failing. These are button-cell types, typically CR2032. Check your motherboard manual for instructions on how to replace it.

Restore to earlier date
in Backup and Restore

I am trying to perform a restore from and earlier date (actually only 2 days earlier). Nonetheless, the restore never gets past "initializing" stage. The "wheel" continues to spin, but judging from the hard drive indicator, there is nothing happening....a single blink every 30 sec or so. Thanks...
