Hey man, the other guy with the FL issue here. Here's my workaround, if that helps you.
1. Decide where you want to save your track. Now make a folder within that folder for this wav file. Then make ANOTHER folder for that. It should be ChosenFolder -> NewFolder1 -> NewFolder2 -> wav_file in explorer.
IMPORTANT: Don't go to that folder after you render your track. That will cause the CPU spike.
2. Render your track.
3. Upload your wav to a FTP site (I use Mediafire, it's free).
4. Close your web browser after it's uploads. That should be a CPU hog as well.
5. Delete your parent folder that has the wav folder. In the example above, you should be deleting NewFolder1.
6. Download the wav file from Mediafire.
It's a long way to avoid this CPU thing but it gets you your song in the end, which matters the most IMO. Hope this helps!
