Seems we didn't solve the problem.
I've got a solution to this. Just get an "content" view of the folder which contains flv files, things like this would not happen. But I can't solve it fundamentally, either.

Thank you so much, yeyunpeng! I had been having this problem too (i have win7codecs too), and now i know why. Thanks a lot, Dllhost.exe was driving me nuts, (it always took 100% of the cpu, except when i tried to open some other program of folder it went down to 90% then back to 100%...seems it makes way a bit if you need to run something else...), making my pc lag extremely. However i still haven't found which file is causing the problem. Is there any way to find out?
Sorry for reply you with long time gone.
I think you can try to turn off thumbview of win7 then reboot to watch whether it come again. If it can not be solved, means your win7's problem is not cased by thumbnail. Can't help you, sorry.

    I think I found something...

For those of you who are still struggling with this I think I found something. I had some large audio files (and video files) on my desktop. Once I moved those to another folder, the locked 25% dllhost issue cleared.

Prior to that I tried these things which did not solve:
    - Malwarebytes Full Scan
    - Microsoft Security Essentials Full Scan
    - System restore to 2 weeks prior
    - Removal of K-lite (Base, Full and 64bit)
    - Removal of Tversity
    - Close all open programs using procexp

Use the program Unlocker to move or delete the file.

Does anyone know what causes this though? Each time I render a wav file with Fl Studio now causes this problem.

With what settings do you export the wav?

I have a suspicion that this is codec-related.

Looks normal... I suggest experimenting some with codecs codec tools. Tools - Video software and downloads - VideoHelp.com

hey guys i have the exactly same problem that yodamanjaro has. workin with fl and when im done after rendering cpu runs at 80°C usage around 55% top usage is taken by explorer, then dll host and svchost. once i terminate explorer.exe and run it once again pc slowly starts to lose control, doesnt respon files wont load, moving deleting is impossible etc.

any suggestions how to fix this whole bullshit that happens only on this goddamn win7?
