I was scanning the web for something interesting when I came across this article which took me through a photo journey of Windows. Hopefully someone else has not posted this, hate to do it twice.

It was interesting to go down this lane because it brought back some great memories of life during this time of technological change. Myself I did not get into Windows until NT 3.51; before that I was writing code for IBM systems, and others. My own personnel computer was an Apple (can't remember the series anymore) then the MAC Plus in 1987 through 1992. In 1992 I switched to the Color Mac then in 1996 to a Dell with NT. Still have the Mac Plus (and yes it still works, albeit a little slow (system 7, ironic)).

My journey actually started in 1974, however, my personnel computer journey start in 1982.

So where did you start your computer journey:

I like how it says that Windows ME delivered 'reliability improvements'.

Well I'm a relative newcomer. I didn't even own a computer till 2000 and I found it in the dumpster at my apt. complex someone took the cdrw out of it and I didn't know anything about comps but I knew something had to be in that empty slot, so I took it to a shop and they installed a optical drive in it and it worked. While I took it out the back door they had about 15 monitors wating for the proper disposal co. to pick them up so I helped myself to one and then bought a used 12.00 keyboard and mouse and was hooked on them ever since. so I started with 98. the 98se then XP. I got hooked so bad I started going to swap meets and buying all kinds of really cheap stuff. starting with the 486 cpu I think and then got my first pent 2 and thought that was the s@@@. At one time not even 4 months later I had about 10 working systems I taught myself how to fix and formatt and so on. I did find Nt 3.1 on 1 system and of course 95. I even bought a dual boot system only both drives were in chinese.

...So where did you start your computer journey:

As a toddler being dragged around the magical world of an (access controlled) "computer mainframe room" sometime in the mid-70s. The best bit was being allowed to mash the keyboard of a punched hole writer/reader, and thereby make random patterns in Hollerith cards :D

Back in 1958 as a Freshman in high school I made a simple adding machine form some relays and lites, call it a digital computer and won 2 place at the state science fair. But my first real computer use was a Dec PDP11 i leased time on hooked up to a 300 baud dialup modem. Then I bought an Alpha Mico 1000. I've had almost every type of PC since.
