Are you positive D: was a drive and not just a partition ?

Do you have 2 seperate hard drives on your pc ?

If you did fresh install and deleted all your partitions, you will now only have a c: drive.

For most people the word drive could mean either a partition or a physical drive.

Not many computers come with 2 physical disks installed but a lot come with multiple partitions on one physical disk.

Since the OP did a Reinstall of Windows, and he hasn't yet posted a SS of the Disk Management window, I would suspect, Not Assume, the D drive he is referring to was a partition on the one physical disk installed in his system and during the re-install of Windows it got erased and combined into the C Drive/Partition.

But hey what do I know.

The computer does have two physical drives, not a drive with a partition. The Disk Management window now only shows one drive.

We need to see a screen shot.
If the system has 2 Physical drives and only one is showing up then the other has failed in some way. But we will not know that until we see a screen shot of the Disk Management window.

Maybe it has somehow become loose in it`s connections. Does the second hard drive show up in the bios ?
