Simply transferring an OS from another PC is not evidence of piracy.

Do you have licenses for each of these OS's to activate after they start up?
Well it is odd that he has 2 drives out of other system and NO media, IE No DVDs. No DVDs mean to me that these 2 drives may of come out of Branded computers, Dell, HP and the like. It is against the EULA to move those to any other computer. Which exactly what he is doing.

That is pretty judgemental edwar after he only made 3 posts.

After 7,800 posts do you know how much I have ? I don't think you would even come close at a guess.

Give him a fair chance to list his specs.

Sorry Edwar, but it looks like you're jumping the gun a bit without anything pointing towards it.

There's no mention of them coming out of an OEM computer. If they were, and he's using an OEM product key, then it's not going to activate on a different computer anyways.

There's a number of legitimate reasons why someone may no longer have their installation media.

OK I'm out of this thread and maybe out of this forum. Funny how someone got banned today, he had posted to a thread I posted to, and after reading all of his posts I saw no real reason for the banning. But then I'm not an Admin. So from now on I'll just give advice, if I stick around, and not worry about the forum rules.

    Got it.

Well Edwar, that's really up to you if you can't take honest non judgemental feedback for what it is or not.

Personally, I'm disappointed by a response like that from you.

Anyways, let's get back on topic of helping the OP.

In my first post I was just pointing out, As I said Sorry to bring this up, that if these drives came from other system that had OEM keys it was pirating software. Then I get jumped on by many.

And stating the forum rules that this forum does not condone that type of thing.

Honest Non judgement? What are you kidding me. That is all there was. And none of it was pointed at the OP, except greg after he edited his post (As I got the original post he made in an email) to include a question about where they came from and if he had keys.

Ok I'm done. Good Luck and Best wishes to you all.

No need to fight over this guys.. I have a valid oem sticker for both of these hard drives just no media. I bought 2 broken custom builds and fixed them, used them, then built a better machine and want to use them in it. If I wanted to do this illegally I would just torrent the Windows 7 install disc then I assume I could partition one of the drives which would give me the ability to do what I am looking to do. Instead I am trying to do this the legal way like I always do and I am hoping someone can give me the solution without the media.

    My specs are as follows:

    Core i7 2600k
    Gigabyte GA-z68x-ud3h
    16GB Patriot viper series 1600MHz
    250GB SATA HDD
    1.5TB SATA HDD
    EVGA GTX 480
    OCZ Fatality 550W PSU

What are the results of working through the steps given here?

If correctly SysPrepped to move HD to another computer then they should start.

Plug them in one at a time until each will boot.

If one will not boot, with other unplugged confirm that Win7 partition or it's 100mb System Reserved partition (preferred if you have it) is Marked Active,

then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts.

It will install most drivers requiring several reboots. Then run all Important and Optional Windows Updates after enabling Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3).

Once this is completed for each HD plugged in alone, set preferred HD to boot first in BIOS setup, trigger other HD using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key. If this is not acceptable method, install EasyBCD to the primary booting Win7 to add the other on Add OS Entry tab. EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required)
