I've locked myself out of my user account
I just created a non-administrator windows profile and hid my only other profile from the Windows 7 logon screen using a registry hack I found online. I assumed that like previous versions of Windows I would be able to still log in to my old account by typing in my user name somehow. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case without some registry hack which of course I can't apply from the non-administrator account. To make matters worse I can't even "Run as Administrator" because the stupid fingerprint scanner on my laptop forces me to scan for a print and allows no other method to authenticate myself as an administrator. I do have a fingerprint for my usual profile but this seems to be asking about the default admin profile for which there is no fingerprint (how could there be?). I am not able to disable the fingerprint scanner because I guess I have to be admin to do that. So I guess that is an impossible situation. I tried logging in as admin by using safe mode but that just put me straight in to the non-admin account.
So have I totally screwed myself over and now I have to re-install windows, or is there still some way to untangle this mess?
