Windows Explorer stopped showing folder contents
Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
When I attempt to view a specific folder's contents in Windows Explorer, it appears to be stuck in a loop and does not show the contents. The scroll-bar on the right flashes non-stop. This only started today.
If I rename the folder, the problem goes away and I can view the folder content.
If I then rename the folder back to what it was before, the problem returns.
This issue also occurs with the same specific folder, if I boot into Safe-Mode (which would seem to rule out it being a 3rd-party software conflict issue).
If I login using a different user account the problem does not occur (so it seems to be an issue
with the user account).
The problem does not occur if I map a drive from a second computer and view the folder contents.
The problem doesn't occur when I use the Save As function to save another file to that specific folder.
I have performed an extended memory check, along with running "chkdsk /R" with no change in behavior.
Any helpful tips on getting to the bottom of this would be much appreciated. I did find a reference to someone else having the same issues in a different forum (from Dec 2011); however, no help was forthcoming.
