    pdf files

In windows 7, how do you change how a pdf file opens? When I click on a pdf file link it tries to open with notepad, that looks like a foreign language. I would like for it to open with adobe.
    Any help is appreciated.

Right click, open with, and select adobe reader.
You can check the box at the bottom to always open with that program.

    Hi rving4us, Welcome to SF,

You could Download Abode Reader then install them then it will automatically change the File accociations. If you have it installed already. Right Click on a PDF document then click on open with Adobe Reader then below you can see a check box which says always use this program.

    Hope this helps,

Are you trying to open these in a browser?
Do you have Adobe Reader installed?

I think I may have it figured out. I went into file associations and found the pdf file and changed it choose adobe to open. Maybe this will work.
The file I was actually trying to open was on another forum, and after trying to open it with adobe, adobe reader came up and said this file was corrupt and could not be opened.
Thanks for the help, I'm new at this windows 7.
