Windows 7 premium software

Hello forum.

Hope you guys are all good with the season spirit.

I'm doing up a new pc,got all the specks for it,and the guy that's doing it up for me,asked for me to
buy the software. So I bought the software of e-bay. And I didn't know if I got the right one(foolish of me)
so it arrived today and I got the box.

It states this on the box:

Windows home premium 7 SP1 64-Bit english.

is this the whole software,or did I accidently buy the wrong softaware?if this help heres the link what i bought.

That's a good start. This will run your PC well. After that you might want to look at Office 2010. This is a 'must have' in my book. For the rest you will be looking mostely at free software. A good place to look is here: FileHippo.com - Download Free Software

Thanks for the reply Whs

I was worried for a moment, but truly isn't the tech supposed to have windows 7 to install into my new done up machine?or is it my obligation to provide him with the software?

You may want to clarify this with your tech/builder. They could have a multi-license Windows 7 OS installation license and in that instance they meant only the additional software as WHS mentions above. Normally this will be spelled out on your receipt as even a bulk license will have a cost and rarely is given/installed for free. If this isn't the case then you bought the correct OS and from here you'll need to choose the rest of the systems software, MS Office Suite, Photoshop, Antivirus, Multimedia software, Music server software, Quicken bookkeeping software the lists go on and on.

Thank you Linnen.

Since I bought the os myself, then Ill take it from here and on.Important thing is its the right software pack.
Ive got 3y antivirus subs plan, all though it did wish windows/microsoft would truely see into this virus thing,I mean
come, were heading into 2013 and still were concerning ourselves with anti virus software,Im sure windows can deal with it,but its all about marketing software,Im sure you understand.

Kind regards.

Yeah, Alan is right. The next most important piece of software is an Antivirus program. There are many free and paid versions. Most people nowadays are content with the Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). It works quite well and is free.

Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

PS: In Windows 8, that is built in. They call it Defender, but it actually is MSE.

Of course here is the problem that I cannot shake. You bought this from eBay...this can really bite you in the butt later on. The chance is high you bought an illegal copy. You better get it checked out. It is a common scam on eBay, selling MSDN or Technet keys and media.

If the price was too good to believe it probably is an illegal copy. No legitimate business would really sale something as expensive as Windows with such low prices, OEM or not.
