Going to upgrade to 7 need advice

This is rather simple I have a xp system that has several HD drives. I am going to buy a 500 GB drive and install 7 then XP if I need to. So that I can leave my previous file system intact.

The whole reason for keeping xp is for Quicken 2007 which as far as I know does NOT work with 7. So I have looked at other Quicken products and the reviews are NOT good. What program should I get to transfer to 7. Suggestions are appreciated...

thanks for reading..

I have Quicken Premier Home and Business 2004 running perfect on Windows 7 so I don't see any issue with Quicken 2007.

You could always try installing it in compatibility mode if it doesn't work natively.

In review of what you are attempting, you may want to look at purchasing Windows 7 Professional that will have the ability to emulate Windows XP. However, you will need to verify that your computer system has the correct processors for this function. Windows has more than adequate information to help you decide the process. If you already own your system, Windows will validate your processor if you are able to emulate Windows XP

After the initial release of Virtual XP M$ removed the restrictions meaning any decent recent CPU can run the VM. Preferably a multi core device. No need to have a secure virtual machine CPU.

Sometimes people panic as it does not say on the box Windows 7. I'll bet if it runs on XP and Vista it will run better on 7. The only issue you may have is with the crazy copy protection Quicken alienated all there users with. My wife uses Excel to do the same things as Quicken but she is a fairly advanced user.
