    Plugged in, but running off battery..


    Ok, before I start, I'm POSITIVE this is not a hardware issue, because when I'm in Ubuntu, it doesn't happen.

    Every 10 seconds or so, Windows will think my charger is unplugged. Then, it will proceed to switch back and fourth between plugged in and not, forcing my laptop to switch between power modes. (I'm guessing this is stress on the CPU and I do not want it to have to do that all the time)

    It's getting annoying having to deal with my laptop getting hot and such because of the switching power modes.

    Any ideas..?

    I presume you dual boot? Are you using the battery charger in the same socket as you do when you are booted to Ubuntu?

    I dual boot Ubuntu and Win 7. Same charger, same port. This is definitely one of the weirder issues I've faced.

Well, in the past when my battery is below 90%. It will start to charge untill 100% when plugged in. Now i notice that it can only charge to 90% then stop. What is wrong?

Acer laptop 2 months old I did the followings but did not fix it : Unplugged the machine Removed the battery Plugged everything back in ( except the battery ) and loaded the machine Turned off the machine Put the battery back in.
My dell inspirion says plugged In not charging I have replaced the motherboard,battery,and charger please help
my battery was giving 1.5 hour power backup from last 4 months... then last month it decreased to 1 hour...from couple of days it decreased to 1/5 hour(with error 'Consider replacing new battery') and yesterday i was using on battery power... and battery had 34% power remaining.. suddenly battery...
