Windows 7 64 bit
McAfee version

under McAfee properties it says windows vista. I have windows 7 but only had this laptop 3 months. It is rented. When I talked with acer support they said my mcafee has not been effective at all. It was to work with vista and not 7. Who knows who had this computer before me. It was to be newish.

Hello Tara and welcome to Seven Forums.

Just a suggestion but you should remove McAfee and replace it with something else. It would be to your advantage because McAfee has a history of causing problems with Windows 7. Make sure you follow the instructions and use the official removal tool.

How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)

The suggested replacements (all free) are:

Microsoft Security Essentials

 McAfee version
