Recover my partitions

I recently installed Win8 on a friend's laptop, and that friend accidentally deleted some files of the OS,and the result was that the partition that contained Win8 went missing and consequently Win8 does not start.I used TestDisk to recover his files and then in an attempt to recover his lost partition which was of the Extended type,I used TestDisk to rewrite the MBR (ofcourse,I had no idea what I was doing ).The result was that after a restart ,I got this error message and the system wont boot-"BOOTMGR is missing or corrupt".I at that moment realized that I had messed up the BCD.I went for a Nuclear Holocaust Recovery that was to rebuild the BCDs and i got the system back to boot. But,I have a problem now,the laptop was an HP Pavillion and it had four partitions : System Reserved,D:,HP_Tools*,Recovery.Now ,I see that HP_tools and Recovery have vanished .I don't see them in the Disk Management Console and DISKPART .But I see then on TestDisk, and also the Recovery Boot Option does not work.I want to get these partitions back because the laptop came with a genuine installation.Help!!

I put the BCDs in D: ,where the Windows Installation is present instead of the default C:,thus the hidden partition of "System Reserved" is now visible

Hello cRahul92 and welcome to Seven Forums.

There's a free utility called MiniTool Partition Wizard. It has a partition recovery option that may help. A lot will depend on whether or not the hard drive has been over-written too many times to make recovery possible. But since it's free it won't hurt to try it.
