Windows 7: reboot and select proper boot device.

Once you`re in the bios.

Up at the top there are different options you can choose. One of them is named advanced, choose that and the screen should change, once it does, look on that screen to see if your hard drive is listed.

Example: ( If you had a 500 GB Western Digital hard drive, it would read something WD50012345. )

The list will look something like this.

IDE Master
IDE Slave
Sata 1
Sata 2
Sata 3
Sata 4 etc.

If it`s not there, that is the problem and why it won`t boot into windows.

Possibly.

Don`t see why just dropping it will have damaged it but....

You will need a new hard drive.

in boot tab- in boot priority you can change your boot list to first boot with dvd drive, if you want to install a fresh installation from dvd





in storage configuration you can see all of HDD detected in your system

He's already said he can't see the hard drive in the BIOS so hows he going to install Windows on it...

He need's a new hard drive before he can do anything.

He's already said he can't see the hard drive in the BIOS so hows he going to install Windows on it...

He need's a new hard drive before he can do anything.

Really he said!! i thought he were at work and said if he couldnt find the hdd!!

if you cannt find it there, maybe the cables got loose, open your system and tighten them up
