Windows logo hangs, startup repair cannot repair windows
I have the weirdest problem with this computer I built over a year ago. Sometimes on boot up the windows logo will appear and then just hang there. The hard drive activity light stops blinking too. If I reset then it will come up say windows did not shutdown normally and wants to run startup repair. I select ok and it does its thing but in the end it comes back and says startup repair could not automatically fix windows. It states that if I have a recently attached device to the computer that I should remove it and restart. But that is not the case so I select the view diagnostic and repair details and it states in session details
System disk = \device\harddisk0
Windows directory = E:\windows
Autochk run = 0
Number of root causes = 1
I don't get it. Windows is on my C: drive. It is a crucial c300 ssd. My d: drive is my DVD burner and my E: drive is a Samsung hard drive.
What is going on here and how can I fix this?
