Windows Search - Content Search Problems

Hello everyone,

I have a specific application that generates txt report files with .doc extension. They are actually native txt files but the .doc extension forces them to be opened with MS Word. I have just notice that Windows Search is unable to search the contant of such files. If I rename them and put a .txt extension instead, everything works fine. If I save then as real doc files, no problem either. Has anyoned experienced a similar situation? Windows Search can only search content of files if the extension matchs the native type?

Thank you,
Erik Draganov
