It is pretty hard to analzye the DVD/CD drive problem as to why it is not reading without more details or getting it connected to the internet. Maybe if you could copy the wireless stick Install Disc files to a USB Flask stick & then use it to install to the HomeBuilt.

If it is windows XP go to your start menu and then select "run" and type in "dxdiag" without the "" and then press ok.

I you have windows 7 or 8 go to your start menu and type "dxdiag" without the "" and press enter.

A new window should have opened, if you have a 32 bit system you can rely on the results, if you have a 64 bit system there
is an option that says run 64 bit dxdiag, click that option.

    Let the process run through.

After this post the results from the tab "system" and the results from the tab "input".

I guess you could always take it back to the ruputable source you got it from & ask them if they can fix or install the wireless stick files. Or take it to a expensive computer repair store and see what they would charge to solve your problems. I just gave you some of my best advice for FREE :)

I'm not picking on him. I think we need more info to help. But without some participation cooperation, and just asking if there is any other way? A lot of other users will get help quicker.

Is there not a solution without doing this?
Yes, take it right back where you got it from and have them put in a new optical drive for you

What I meant to say up there, this darn thing just won`t let you delete sometimes.
