I told you to do copy instead of move...... because.... it forces new user (user that does the copy) to become the owner. Because they are new created files, only inhereted permissions will be active.

It's just like you copy files normally or download from internet.

Indeed move was easier. And change owner and permissions afterwards.

But..... new user doesn't have read access to old user files!! So can't be moved!

So you had to change permissions on old user files first.

Best way was to copy..... it keeps old account in same state.
