Hello I am having the exact same problem here and currently trying to type the script into the command prompt from my Asus BIOs but don't know how to open the command prompt. Nor does it give a safe mode option in the boot menu. Any help would be great.

Edit: To all having this error try running BIOS, navigate to advanced mode, advanced tab, open DATA Configuration, select IDE. This is the option that got me booted up past crash

I got the issue turning off my laptop during an unannounced update.
pressing F8:
System restore failed
System repair failed
Factory reset failed

after start windows went into repair session. witch failed.

Cancelled the restart,
pressed a link at the bottom of the window to restore drivers.
browsed for the driver
chose the Drive that contained my Windows installation.
right clicking > Properties > Check disk
received a warning for mounted drive!
Forced unmounted the drive
Ran the Check Disk. > found some errors and fixed them.
restarted.
Windows updated itself.
Got a working machine.

summary of the story
Don't fu** with Windows update, or it will Fu** you back!! and Update itself no matter you want it or not!!
