    Partition Volume Missing.

    Hello,

i installed "partition magic" on my laptop and tried to merge the 2 two volumes on my hard drive (D and E). But when i started the software for the first time after installation it showed that there was some error with my partition and asked for repair. After completing a few repair steps the application showed "failed to initialize" and crashed.. After this when i opened my computer i found my E drive missing... Computer Management doesn't show it in the list but it can b seen in the bar as a logical drive but without any details...i cant change the drive letter or view the properties..when i try that it shows an error "Operation failed because Disk Management console view is not up to date. try again closing disk management or restarting the computer". I did both but the same error appears.

Please help me i have a lot of important data in the drive.

Partition Magic? What is that? Use Partition Wizard bootable CD which is the only one besides Disk Mgmt that will not fail.

Run the Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard - Video Help.

Afterwards post back a maximized Disk Mgmt screenshot showing listings and drive map and we'll advise you how to do what you want.

Partition Magic is very old obsolete program that is no longer supported.

    I don't recommend using it.
Use what greg has recommended and you will be happy if you follow instructions.
