What exactly is on the 3 dvd's? Are they spanned; ie, related data is on each disk which comprises the total volume? What is the capacity of each disk?

I would instead do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
without the factory bloatware. Write the ISO in Step 1 to stick using tool in Step 2.
Follow the steps closely and you'll get and keep a perfect Install, better than 90% of PC owners and better than getting a new PC considering the crapware that comes with them that throttles Win7.
Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure if you were referring to a manufacturer's disk set or something else. Since the disks comprise a manufacturer's system recovery I would suggest following the advice provided by "gregrocker" in this thread and do a clean reinstall.
