is 32 GB ssd enough space for boot drive?

I recently got a 32 GB ssd and was wondering if windows 7 64 bit, xbmc, chrome, and less than 1 GB of background images would fit ok? I know that 64bit takes a bit more install space but was thinking maybe I could load up on ram and use that as temp storage to save space on ssd? I spend the entire time in xbmc, which is pretty easy on the resources

I don't know what xmbc is but w7 will use about 11-15GB after all updates and would leave little room for any other programs. I would suggest at least a 64GB for OS and a secondary HDD, spinner drive, for your User data.

32GB is tight. But with proper measures, it may fit.

After the install, get rid of the hiberfile. The command is powercfg -h off. Then reduce the pagefile to 2GB. That works for me on 6 systems with SSDs. Then you should also shut off system restore. Make images to an external disk instead.

You then can install plenty of programs (but no big games). Normal programs take little space. With the above measures and about 50 normal programs you should stay within 25GBs. Here is a list of the stuff I have already in my x86 program files. To that you have to add the x64 program files (another 50 or so - including Office and some other heavy stuff). And I have 26GB occupied on C

Cool so if I follow those directions I shouldn't have any problems at all as all my media is kept on a separate drive, thanks man

If you mean by 'media' the user files (documents, music, pictures, videos), then you are good to go.
