After 15 minutes desktop returns to logon screen

Windows 7 Home Premium HP Pavilion

I had done a recovery to get things cleaned up. Sort of a let's start fresh now after a year of learning and installing so many programs the wrong way etc. Computer is all nice and organized and working well except this one thing.

After sitting about 15 minutes desktop goes black for about 4 or 5 seconds then returns to login screen and I have to enter my password again.

Changed every power setting to never and still can't resolve this. This never occurred when I had the original install I got with the system. Thanks

Do you have Sleep and Hybrid Sleep also set to Never?

Hey I might have found solution. I kept searching forum here and someone mentioned screensaver which I have set to none but it also had checked log on when returning and the check box was set for 10 minutes. Let me try this out and see what happens. I'll let you know either way. Thanks

That was it. Choosing "None" for the screen saver has a check box and checking that then adjusting the time leads to the desktop going back to the log on screen after that time period. In my case since it is password protected of course I have to enter in the password.

Thank you for replying. I only wish I had found the answer the first time I went searching and saved you the time replying.
