    Current working directory is read-only


    Hello forums
    I recently re-installed windows and I am installing back my previous programs. I put the OS and programs on a SSD in C: and users files on an HDD in D:
    I tried to open a program which has a program file, and separate files it uses for data. (It is a book type reader program and the separate files are the books.)
    The “reader” program is in C:\Program Files\Reader, and the “books” are in D:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Reader
    When I try to open the program I get an error message that says:
    The current working directory is read-only. Program requires write permissions to this folder in order to operate. Please set the current working directory to a folder which is writable.
    How would I go about repairing this?

    Do you get to specifiy where the Reader (programme) points to its "books".

    The Roaming folder is read only. The Reader programme for some reasson needs full access to the path (directory) of the "books"

    You should be able to point the Reader program to point at a different location for example: d:\users\user\desktop\books

    Then copy the "books" from Roaming\Reader to Desktop\books

    Aslong as the Reader program dosnt look at the Roaming folder for anything else.
