Yes - it is just a normal everyday Hitachi USB stick - that I thought would be able to go onto different computers.

I went onto another Computer Management for another issue and it states that it is Read Only. I do not know what happened. I certainly do not know how to change the properties
Is it writeable on other computers??

Does it have a write-protect (LOCK) switch as described on

I can use it on other computers - but it still is noted as a read only.

Maybe it is just me and I should not use a computer.

It does not have a lock on it as described. Just a generic USB stick.

So you can write to it on other computers?

No - just went on the other computer - noted as Read Only.

I give up. I will just invest in a new one.

Thank you for your assistance and time. Perhaps it is just me

That happens time to time. I also had it once.
One last try. I assume it is till volume D

    Code:
    diskpart
    sel vol D
    attri disk clear readonly
    exit
Can you write to it now? Otherwise.... bad luck

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your last message.

I have tried doing your last option - looks like it worked.

I appreciate your assistance. For a person like me - I appreciate it.

It overrides the readonly state.... even if hardware writeprotected in usb stick firmware.

So it works now? But I don't think it works if you eject and reconnect the stick

I am afraid I have returned back to my computer after re-inserting back into the lap top - read only again.

I do appreciate all the effort that you have been through troubleshooting.

I think I will keep an eye out on the other USB drives that came with this one.

    Or a refund -----

I think that people in this forum will give up on me
