    Hi there,

Reboot the system in Selective Startup and see if that fixes the problem. I think it should be something in the startup that's triggering Computer to open

    See how here:

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

    1. Open the Start Menu, type msconfig in the search box, and press Enter.

    2. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes (Windows 7) or Continue (Vista).

    3. In the General tab, select (dot) Selective Startup, and uncheck the Load Startup Items box. (see screenshot below)

Reboot. See if it pops up again.

Hello Sparky, and welcome to Seven Forums

Double check in your "Startup" folder in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below to see if you have a shortcut for the Computer window in it. If not, then you might check METHOD FOUR for this entry in your registry.

    Startup Programs - Change

    Hope this helps, :)

If none of the above work, Try this:

Click Start, in the search box, type Regedit.

    Navigate To > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In RHS panel, change value of "Userinit" to : C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

    Ok,

    Open Regedit, And browse to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run

take a screen shot of the RUN folder, and post it here for me to see.
