Location not available, how can I fix this error?
Laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, it was working fine until I turned it off.
Turned the laptop back on, got the login screen. Logged into my account and got the screen Welcome, followed by one that stated “Preparing your desktop…” followed by a black screen with cursor visible.
A message box then appears titled Location not available. It reads “C:\\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a harddrive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the interent or your network, and then try again. If it can still not be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.”
After clicking the OK button on the above message I am left with a black desktop with only a recycling bin icon shown. Any attempt to access User files or the computer returns the message:
Explorer.EXE The server process could not be started because the configured identity is not correct. Check the username and password.
