its 32bit what does it take to make it 64bit for more ram?
Your processor is good for 64bit, MOBO and controllers should be checked.

Most OEMs will send you a 64bit DVD for your same version OS, for free or a shipping charge. Just have to find it on their website or check their users forum, it's usually discussed there.

As Antman said, if it has a 64bit driver download page then it probably is 64bit capable.

This is for Win7 but Vista is very similar, checked one a couple of weeks ago.
You can check if it's 64bit capable by:
    click Start Orb
    Right click 'Computer'
    Click 'Properties'
In the lower left corner Click 'Performance Information and Tools'
In the middle right side Click 'View and print detailed performance and system information'
The page that comes up will have it listed under 'System' it has 'System type - 64-bit operating system' if you have one, and '64bit Capable' specification if it is capable.

    Your good to go M8

Check with HP on the 64bit DVD details, and your set.

Don't forget to do as zigzag3143 suggested and make a complete Disk0 backup in the first day or two.
