Reboot the PC, tap the key given on first screen for BIOS setup (normally F2). Is there a HD status given? Is the HD detected under Storage drives? If not replace the cable or reinstall it, check again.
Download the maker's HD Diagnostic
s DOS CD scan, burn to CD using Windows Image Burner, boot to run extended scan.
Next run a full Disk Check
(Option 2) from Windows 7 installer System Recovery Options
or Repair CD Command Line.
