XML Parser SDK vs MSXML in Windows 7
Ok, I did some forum searching and google searching and cannot seem to find the answer to my question.....
I work for a company where an issue has arisen with Windows 7 (64-bit) and XML Parser SDK 4.0 (it fails to install). My boss came to me and wanted me to research why as well and find out the difference in XML parser versions. I do not really understand what XML parsers do other than what I've read on wikipedia. (I work in a department where we do QA testing of the software -- I am not in development or packaging).
They have XML Parser SDK 4.0 and XML Parser 6.0 in their inventory for installation. I have also found out they have MSXML 4.0 SP2 and SP3 in their inventory as well. So in doing this research, I have a couple questions:
1. Does MSXML have the same functionality and files as XML Parser SDK 4.0 (and/or 6.0)?
2. Are they even just the same program but they've labelled them incorrectly?
3. I have researched enough to know MSXML 4.0 SP3 fixes a lot of stuff and offers 64 bit support for Windows 7 -- is this correct?
Thank you in advance for any information you can offer for me.
